When your health (or your child’s health) starts deciding what you can or can’t do, where you can go, and how you spend your days, it may be time for a new approach.
Every presenting symptom is merely an effect, a downstream manifestation of a deeper disturbance.
We ask, “What set this pattern in motion?” We look at the whole picture, including the emotional, physical, or chemical stressors that may have preceded the onset of your symptoms.
Less time managing symptoms.
More time living your life.

Welcome to Rise & Remedy Homeopathy. I’m Tanya, a Certified Practical Homeopath (PHom), currently continuing my studies through the London-based College of Practical Homeopathy’s Post-Grad Licentiate Program.
Like many people, I found homeopathy when I felt like I had run out of options. When symptoms begin interfering with daily life, medications aren’t bringing the relief you hoped for (or are creating problems of their own) and there’s no clear path forward, you start looking elsewhere.
For me, it was knee pain. My boys were 5 and 9, and instead of participating in their childhood, I was watching from the sidelines. I woke up with knee pain one morning and, inexplicably, it stayed for 18 months. There was no diagnosis, no clear cause, and eventually I was on crutches and beginning to accept that this might simply be my life.
Then someone introduced me to homeopathy.
I was completely new to it, and skeptical. It actually took a nasty bee sting on my finger to convince me to give it a try. The pain disappeared within about 30 seconds. I was stunned, and I wanted to understand what had just happened.
That experience sent me down a completely different path. Today, I no longer live with that knee pain, and homeopathy has become part of how I care for myself and my two boys (who now affectionately call me “medic mom.”)
My goal is to empower people with the knowledge that the body is wise and has an extraordinary capacity for healing. I am not the healer. You are. I am the facilitator.
My role is to listen carefully, understand your story, and use homeopathy to help support your body as it finds its way out of suffering and back toward balance.

Now we get to talk about how far you’ve come, and where to go next. There is usually one month between the initial consult and the follow-up.
“I retired several years ago. Then, recently, I learned that I have gout attacks in my foot. To take another prescription drug was not the answer I wanted to hear. I thought there had to be a better way to manage this painful condition.
After speaking with Tanya, she suggested remedies that would strengthen my body's own defenses, allowing my body to heal itself and reduce the uric acid and inflammation in my system over time. Now, I take the remedies upon awakening every day, follow a healthy diet and live a pain free life. Most importantly I can visit and travel with my daughter, her husband, and still run after and play with my grandchildren. Thank you for saving me! I don't know what else I would have done. This medicine is for everyone.”
“I have worked with Tanya for many months to help my often complicated chronic and acute health issues. I’ve been a holistic practitioner in my own practice since 1985 and also have seen many practitioners over the years to assist me with symptom relief and true healing, so I know a capable practitioner when I see one.
Tanya is grounded and well rooted in her homeopathic education. She’s thorough. Really listens. Trustworthy. Kind. Able to sort through all the information and then research the proper remedies. With confidence I highly recommend her as a teacher of homeopathic classes or for a consultation.”
“I’m incredibly grateful for the care and attention Tanya provided as a practitioner while helping me with homeopathy remedies to manage post-concussive symptoms, including persistent headaches, anxiety related to the injury, and sensitivity to light and noise, as well as guiding me with remedies for mold exposure. Before starting homeopathy, these symptoms were significantly impacting my daily life, but after taking the remedies, I experienced a noticeable reduction in headaches, improved tolerance to light and sound, and an overall sense of calm and balance returning.
She truly took the time to listen to everything I shared, addressed each concern individually, and brought a wealth of knowledge and information to every recommendation. What meant the most was how diligently she checked in with me afterward, making sure to follow up on my symptoms and adjust her support with genuine care and thoughtfulness.”
Homeopathy is a system of medicine in which a substance that can cause certain symptoms in a healthy person may help heal those same symptoms in someone who is ill. Based on the principle of like cures like. (For example, burning your finger and then running it under warm water.)
In a process called “potentization”, substances are repeatedly diluted and then shaken vigorously so that they become homeopathic remedies. Gentle enough to avoid toxicity, yet more powerful in their healing effect.
Today, pharmacies around the world prepare homeopathic remedies under strict regulations.
In the United States, the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS) serves as the official reference recognized by the FDA. This “rulebook” sets the standards, preparation methods, and approved ingredients for every homeopathic medicine sold in the country, ensuring each remedy is made and labeled with consistent quality.
Unlike dietary supplements, which are not held to this FDA-recognized standard, homeopathic medicines follow these detailed guidelines. Homeopaths value this oversight because it helps us ensure that remedies remain consistent, reliable, and effective. Homeopathy is an excellent choice for babies, pregnant women, adults, even animals. For chronic cases, I recommend using Homeopathy as directed under the supervision of a Homeopath.
Recent advances in science now allow us to see what homeopaths long suspected: even highly diluted remedies contain nano-particles of the original substance. Research suggests these tiny particles can interact with the body to gently stimulate its own healing capacity: the “vital force.” Really, though, the proof is in the clinic and the experience of the client. Results speak for themselves.
Homeopathy itself doesn’t cure; the body does the healing. Homeopathic medicine simply guides and supports that natural process.
The key to homeopathy is that it works with the body, not against it. Unlike conventional drugs that suppress symptoms, homeopaths use symptoms to understand what the body is communicating.
For example, a pain reliever like Advil can mask a headache by suppressing it, but a carefully chosen homeopathic remedy aims to address the imbalance causing the pain. The goal is to resolve the underlying condition, so remedies are not needed indefinitely.
Actually, homeopathy is the #2 most used system of medicine in the world (second to Chinese Medicine). ColdCalm, which is a common homeopathic combination remedy widely available in US stores, is the number one most purchased medicine in France.
Things are different in the United States. By 1915, homeopathy was a $5 billion business (in today’s money). There were 400 dedicated homeopathic hospitals, 16 full time homeopathic medical schools, and roughly 10,000 MD Homeopaths (not counting home prescribers).
Once there were modern antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals available that could be patented, medicine became a money making business. The AMA began to forbid Doctors to become Homeopaths or even to marry Homeopaths. If they found that an MD was practicing homeopathy, they were barred from joining the AMA. Homeopathic hospitals began to close and conventional medicine took over.
The Samuel Hahnemann Monument in Philadelphia, dedicated in 1890 to the founder of homeopathy, still stands today. Its inscriptions honor him as a reformer of medicine who sought to cure “gently, rapidly, reliably, permanently” through natural laws. The monument reflects Philadelphia’s role as a historic center of homeopathy and stands as a rare tribute in American public art to a medical figure outside conventional medicine.
My recommendation to anyone who is skeptical (like I was) is simple: try it. Be curious.
I didn’t believe in homeopathy when I first found it. I didn’t really understand how it could work. But then I experienced it for myself. There is something very different about watching suffering lift - especially when you’ve tried everything you know to do and nothing is helping.
When my youngest son had a deep friction wound on his pinky, he was screaming and writhing in pain. I gave him three or four remedies. Nothing happened. (I even tried Motrin!) Nothing happened. Then I finally found the remedy that matched what he was experiencing. Within minutes, he just stopped crying and took a huge sigh of relief. I was so relieved, I started to cry.
Could someone call that coincidence or placebo? Sure. I understand the skepticism because I had it too. One experience probably wouldn’t have changed my mind.
But then it happened again. And again.
That is what changed things for me - not someone convincing me that homeopathy works, but seeing responses for myself and becoming curious enough to keep learning.
Homeopathy doesn’t choose a remedy simply because someone has “pain,” a “cough,” or a “fever.” We look at the particular way that person is experiencing it and choose a remedy that matches that individual picture.
You don’t have to believe in homeopathy to be curious about it. In my experience, once you’ve seen or felt that dark cloud of suffering lift, the question of whether you “believe” in it starts to matter a whole lot less.
As they say, the proof is in the pudding.
Yes! Homeopathy does not interfere with prescription medications. It is usually the other way around. While the homeopathic remedy is trying to remind the body how to do the healing work itself, the prescription medicine can be telling the body to suppress the signal entirely. (Kind of like silencing the smoke alarm instead of putting out the fire.)
However, you can use them together to encourage the body to take over again and bring itself back into balance. The goal is to make the prescription superfluous. After all, we don’t need a medicine to be able to heal a simple wound if it’s clean. The body will just close it back up!
